Trying to write

The time has come. I must start writing this blog faithfully. It is now or never. I want this to helpful, informative and instructional. And I have a plan now. I enjoy talking with many of our parents on the phone but writing is more of a challenge for me. Especially when I keep getting interrupted (it has happened twice in during last paragraphJ ).

My husband and I have always known that home schooling our children was best – for them and for our family as a whole. Whatever your reason for home schooling, I hope you will keep in mind how much this can influence their lives. We have four children. Three of them have graduated, so I only have one left and he is a senior this year. I keep thinking how fast the time has flown. It seems like I just taught him how to read and now he is almost finished with high school. We are having many conversations about college. My point is that time moves quickly – use it wisely to influence your children.

I know home schooling is not the easiest option but it does bring many rewards. You will know your children better and be able to guide them through life. It will bring the whole family closer together. They will be well rounded as children, teens and adults. Now, go enjoy your children!

  1. Dear Susan,

After I read this post I was encouraged. We have been homeschooling for a year using mix curriculums and the unit study way. We were not being successful. A dear friend recommended CCA to us and after a few months we made the choice. Homeschooling our three daughters is been a blessing but it did come with challenges. Still I wouldn't change a thing with the exception of enrolling on CCA at an earlier time.

It's been two weeks since the girls started their curriculum. My 8 year was having lots of difficulty when we were without one. She was not performing as I would've wanted her to. Thus the importance of a well structure curriculum became evident. When we met with Mr. Rawle, I explained him the "problem" with her academics. He simply said " maybe she don't know was expected of her. Some kids do better once in a curriculum where they know was expected from them everyday" HE COULDN'T SAY IT BETTER!!!At first I didn't really understood, but after her testing and now seen how she is working so well I first thank God and then Mr. Rawle. His experience is obvious! Our daughter have gain confidence and she looks forward to finish her work and show us how she is doing.

Thanks for writing this blog. It was encouraging to read about other mothers and their success. May God bless you and yours.

    In Christ love,
    Heralynn Jones
