Field Trips

I hear about neat things that are going on in different parts of the state. I will try to pass these on as I can.

There is Renaissance Fair in the Tavares area. It is November 5,6,7 and there is a student day on that Friday (the 5th) from 9-5.

Admission is $5.00 a person on that day. The website is http://www.medievalfest.com/.

Also, in the Orlando area there is the Regal Boat Factory. They do one tour everyday, usually Monday – Friday. This is a free tour and high school students will probably enjoy this too. The number is 1-800-US-REGAL. Address is 2300 Jetport Drive, Orlando, 32809.

I hope that you all take time to do fun things with your children.

Trying to write

The time has come. I must start writing this blog faithfully. It is now or never. I want this to helpful, informative and instructional. And I have a plan now. I enjoy talking with many of our parents on the phone but writing is more of a challenge for me. Especially when I keep getting interrupted (it has happened twice in during last paragraphJ ).

My husband and I have always known that home schooling our children was best – for them and for our family as a whole. Whatever your reason for home schooling, I hope you will keep in mind how much this can influence their lives. We have four children. Three of them have graduated, so I only have one left and he is a senior this year. I keep thinking how fast the time has flown. It seems like I just taught him how to read and now he is almost finished with high school. We are having many conversations about college. My point is that time moves quickly – use it wisely to influence your children.

I know home schooling is not the easiest option but it does bring many rewards. You will know your children better and be able to guide them through life. It will bring the whole family closer together. They will be well rounded as children, teens and adults. Now, go enjoy your children!
